Prairie+ is Prairie Materials’ line of sustainability-focused ready-mix concrete, and what makes it different starts long before the batch. Through a multi-year partnership with Concrete.ai, Prairie Materials is one of the first ready-mix producers in North America to use AI-powered mix optimization at scale. Concrete Copilot, the tool at the center of this partnership, models performance and carbon impact side by side before a single cubic yard is produced, predicting 28-day strength results with an accuracy that changes how mix design decisions get made.
This matters for contractors and project teams because it means Prairie+ mixes are not approximations. They are optimized, documented, and validated by our technical team, with lower embodied carbon without sacrificing strength, finish, or constructability. Approximately 30 percent of Prairie+ mixes are now actively produced using AI-optimized designs, and the program continues to grow.
Learn and Evolve is the Our VC Way principle behind this investment. We did not pursue AI-powered optimization because the industry was buzzing about it. We pursued it because the technology made our team more capable, and better decisions at the mix design stage carry forward to every future project.
High-performance pavement concrete for driveways, parking, and durable flatwork. Engineered for freeze-thaw and de-icing resistance.
Rapid-strength paving concrete for road repairs, intersection patches, and any pavement work where lane closure time is the constraint.
Controlled low-strength material (CLSM) for trench backfill, abandoned utility filling, and void filling under slabs and pavements.
High-workability concrete for congested reinforcement and complex forms.
Integral color concrete for decorative and architectural applications.

Prologis Cicero is a 400,000 square foot warehouse with 61 dock doors and the first full-scale Prairie+ warehouse project. Prologis carried a stringent low-carbon specification into the project, and Prairie Materials met that spec without compromising schedule or finish. Of the total concrete placed, 99.6 percent used Prairie+ low-carbon mix designs, eliminating an estimated 721 tons of CO2 compared to a conventional mix of equivalent performance. Compressive strength reached 156 percent of the design target at both 7 and 28 days.
Contractor M-JTJ Contractor & Builders Inc. reported strength comparable to historic mix designs, increased finishability for interior and exterior applications, and consistent set times through winter conditions. The project also produced something with staying power: new mix designs developed through the process are vetted and ready for future projects, giving Prairie Materials the ability to respond quickly when low-carbon specifications come with tight timelines.
Environmental Product Declarations for Prairie Materials and Prairie+ mixes are available on request. They are the document type LEED reviewers expect, and our technical services and quality control teams work with project teams to identify the mix designs and documentation that align with specific credit goals.
Across all plant locations, our teams batch ready-mix concrete products to the same standards. Calibrated batching equipment, controlled supplementary cementitious material sources, monitored aggregate gradation, and standardized quality control protocols mean that a project drawing material from more than one plant gets material that meets the same specification.
Trust and Simplicity is the value that holds this together. The concrete performs, our documentation is there, and the schedule holds. This is the standard Prairie Materials is built on, and it applies to every project, from a single foundation pour to a 115,000 cubic yard skyscraper.
Hutton Transport has long supported a wide range of activities through our sponsorships, including young athletes and tournaments, aiming to inspire and enrich the community in which we live, work and play. We try to make a real difference in the lives of others and a lasting impact in our community, by supporting programs that inspire and enable sports participation. Our goal is the same, whatever sponsorship we are involved in: to connect with the passions of our local community.
We try to make a real difference in the lives of others and a lasting impact in our community, by supporting programs that inspire and enable sports participation. Our goal is the same, whatever sponsorship we are involved in: to connect with the passions of our local community.
Sponsorship is all about understanding our community and neighbours, customers and employees, understanding what they are passionate about and determining the best way to associate our brand with their passions. Sponsoring sports activities can be a fun, exciting venture for a company.
We pride ourselves in being a great corporate citizen, business responsibility focused, and our commitment and support reflects our values, has a positive impact on the multi-cultural, diverse communities we serve and, ultimately, helps build our business. We want to help provide a meaningful academic and athletic experience for youths, for student-athletes that play, the students that cheer and the community that attends the sporting events. We give students a chance to develop important skills by supporting sports programs and believe that fair play, team spirit, success driven by the readiness to perform at the very highest levels, are but a few of the values shared by Hutton Transport Company. We believe that people who take part in sports understand the importance of building healthy relationships and are better citizens of the world.
