A strong safety culture depends on people, not just procedures. Prairie Materials invests consistently in training and development that prepares the team to perform safely and to hold themselves and each other accountable.
We participate in regular safety training and refreshers, hazard identification programs, incident review and prevention planning, and cross-team knowledge sharing across the Prairie Materials and VCNA networks.<\/p>

VCNA holds an annual Safety Leadership Conference that brings together leadership and employees, with outside specialists, to reinforce safety as a core value and to maintain Open Dialogue about what is working and what needs to change.\u00a0<\/p>

Acting with Ownership means that accountability is not limited to the people on the payroll. The VCNA Ethics Line gives anyone, employee or not, the ability to report an unsafe condition anonymously. If something does not look right, there is always a way to say so. This kind of transparency is not incidental to a strong safety culture. It is part of what makes one possible.<\/p>

Accountability is also supported year-round through the VCNA Mobile Wellness Clinic. The clinic provides biometric screenings, vaccinations, and mental health resources to Prairie Materials employees and their families.
